Diane Carriere
My world of WATERCOLOR
Biography:
Diane lives in Northern Ontario and the beauty of the land and atmosphere always spoke to her. She knew she was drawn to light, colour and perspective at a young age. Watercolor is her love as it’s just so magical. She persisted in studying the art of watercolour through books, resources, videos and workshops. She photographs and then paints the environment that surrounds her in the Sudbury and Manitoulin Island area such as flowers and landscapes. Her goal in her impressionism style is to draw her audience into the same peaceful place that she is captivated by.
Diane’s work can be seen every third weekend of July in Kagawong Ontario on Manitoulin Island during the annual Art Tour. Information and maps can be accessed through the Manitoulin Fine Arts Association web site: www.ManitoulinArt.com. Her paintings are also displayed at the Barrydowne Paint and stores in Sudbury www.barrydownepaint.com and at the exquisite Salon and Gallery “Puretique” in Kagawong https://puretique.ca.
She taught and will continue to provide workshops on “Introduction and basics of Watercolor painting” at the “Centre de Sante de Sudbury”.
Statement:
Watercolour painting is exiting and sends me in a place of peace and elation. Drawing was the only medium I was familiar with, however when I first saw watercolour paintings, I was hooked, and I had to learn how to create such mesmerizing paintings. The myriads of resources available and the exuberant feeling I have when creating with such fascinating and vibrant colours gives me the courage to challenge myself. Watercolour painting allows me to express myself and at the same time, surprises me with techniques that creates glowing lights and three-dimensional views. I will paint watercolour...forever.
